another "note to self" mostly post.
But The Gas has a spot very close to my heart.
Rob Crean and co put on a weekly comedy showcase at Great Scott in Allston Every Friday night from 7:30pm-9:30pm featuring some great local comedians and out of town suprises and some of the top headliners in Boston are known to stop in and do an early set, so don't get there late!
It's only $5 and is a great way to kick off the weekend. I'm going to be performing there a few times this summer, and am usually there on Fridays anyhow to hang out and check out the show.
I will be there on June 25th, the day that the film "Grownups" premiers. I was cast as an extra in it and I play the part of the person in charge of running a fashion show. (FITTINGLY, i would say)
So after the show I'm going to try to round up a crew and go check the movie out. Come along.
SPOILER ALERT: I LOOK LIKE THIS IN IT.
Other summer dates at the Gas (all Fridays, FYI)
July 30th, August 13th and August 27th

p.s. some "Basque Girls" took my sticker on a tribute to a nice little island in Spain.
It looks a lot like this...
p.s. again
go to this on Friday

Mottley's Show
Mottley's is a great comedy club in Boston located at 61 Chatham st. in Boston, by Fanuel Hall and right by the Government Center T stop and Aquarium on the Blue line.
I'm performing there next week for the first time as part of the Dave Rattigan Presents...5 New Jokes night.
It's a thing he's done at the Burren on Wednesdays at 10pm where for a month local comics work out and revise new jokes in the middle segment of the comedy contest. It's been a lot of fun and is a great way to workshop some new material.
Dave is also headlining there coming soon this weekend on the 21st and 22nd with Matt D, Dan Crohn (Friday) and Josh Gondelman (Saturday).
On Friday be sure to stick around for The Good Stuff Live with Tom Dustin, a talk and variety show that happens weekly at 10pm
Go here and buy advanced tickets for 5 new jokes on 5/27 at 8pm.

I dont' usually post about open mics
especially open mics that are kind of far away.
so this may just be a "note to self" (sorry loyal foursome of my blog followers)
Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm
at....CAPE ANN ART HAVEN on 180B Main St in Gloucester, MA
Gloucester is a great city to hang out in, especially the summer time. I have a lot of fond memories of going to the Greasy Pole Celebration there (google it if you think it's an amateur stripper night, it's not) and they have a great record store called Mystery Train Records, as well as plenty of good bars and food.
It's also one of the first places I performed a long set at, and I'm looking forward to going back to it!

And we'll be doing a show together on Friday May 21st at BLVD in Boston at 251 Newbury Street 8pm w/Ben Kronberg (Denver comic, very funny guy who has been on Jimmy Kimmel Live) Sameer Naseem and more!
Also, last night in softball I played 1st base (reasonably well) and went 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored, but we lost to The Comedy Lounge.

BBQTips
here's a tip to enhance your barbecue: allow me and a couple other boston comics tell jokes in exchange for beers and prostitute business cards at your house. we would have ate food but we weren't hungry/concentrating on drinking.
John Paul Rivera hosted.
Erik Levi was the feature
and I headlined. I really owned that porch.
Erik did some crowd work, well it was more like "yark work" oh! (he also raked) and the best thing I overheard was during my set a mother explaining to her young son "Oh he's just trying to be funny." and then after my set when John Paul got back on the mic the elderly neighbors from the other yard said "SHUT IT OFF!!"
Anyhow, hosting an open mic at RAZZY's in Somerville 585 Somerville Ave at 10pm tonight and every Monday for the rest of May (at the least) So come out to it!
